Cristiano Ronaldo stood up to the task of getting a much needed home game win against Norwich as they sealed a 3-2 victory to boost their hope of making the top four of the Premier League and are close in with just three points adrift.
The Portuguese scored a hattrick to lift the side through the game and was his second hattrick in five successive home league games, bringing his goal tally 15 and third biggest this season behind Mo Salah and Son Heung-min.
Norwich fell to two goals from the forward in 32 minutes into the game but Kieran Dowell pull one back for Norwich late into the first half with an assist from Teemu Pukki, who scored the second for the equaliser after the break.
At this point, Norwich appeared to be the better side until Ronaldo stunned the visitors when he lashed a free-kick home and gifted United the needed maximum points.
