Los Angeles Lakers Sack Head Coach, Frank Vogel

Los Angeles Lakers have sacked head coach Frank Vogel following their poor outings this season leading to the failure of the franchise to make the Championship playoffs.

Vogel led the team his win 146- 141 in overtime in his last game with the franchise against Denver Nuggets on Sunday. That win, however, was not enough for the team that finished 11th in the Western Conference.

The ousted coach led Lakers to win their first NBA Championship trophy in ten years in 2020 in his debut season when he was appointed in a three-year contract.

Confirming the dismissal, the franchise's general manager, Rob Pelinka described the decision as "difficult" but one that they deemed "necessary at this point" for the club to make.
