FA: Liverpool Reach First FA Cup Final In 10 Years
Sadio Mane was the hero for Liverpool in their qualifying for the FA Cup for the first time since 2012 as they defeated Manchester City 3-2.
Ibrahima Konate put Reds in the lead by heading home Andrew Robertson's cross from a corner and Mane capitalised on Zack Steffen's goalkeeping error to poke in the second goal.
Mane lashed home the third goal from inside the box just before the halftime whistle. City regained confidence and pull back one as Gabriel Jesus connected Fabinho with a pass and Brazilian set Jack Grealish off for a strike for their first goal after the break.
Hope of catching up had already slid of City before Bernardo Silva dribbled past Robertson in the box and crossed the ball through Allison's legs to the net for City's second goal in added minutes.
Liverpool are already strong contenders for the Premier League title and are also into the semi-finals of Champions, so making the FA Cup put them up possibly for a quadruple this season should they get a sweep of the titles up for grab.
