Europa League: Leicester Progress To Semifinal In Thrilling Comeback Against PSV Eindhoven
Leicester have edged out PSV Eindhoven of the UEFA Europa League in a thrilling late comeback to seal a 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time ever in the club's history.
While it seemed as the game was going the other way, the Premier League side kept working towards getting goals in even as the trailed their opponents by a goal down in the first half. It wasn't until late into the second half that their efforts paid off.
James Maddison made the comeback happen by scoring their first that equalised the Dutch's lead and Ricardo Pereira doubled the goals with two minutes left to play.
Eran Zahavi gave PSV the needed home lead in the first half by capitalising on Youri Tieleman's defensive error. But, the changes Brendan Rodgers made after the halftime break would be the game changer for Leicester.
Ayoze Perez who subbed for Kelechi Iheanacho, set off Maddison for a strike and the English player wasted no chances of scoring to equalise PSV's lead in the 77th minute.
Mvogo palmed out a strike from Daka who was picked out by Ademola Lookman but the loose ball got in Ricardo's path and he lashed home the second for the victory.
Leicester will face in their next fixture between AS Roma and Boko/Glimt.
