Kanye West Hires Head of Design For Yeezy
Kanye West may not be having it good concerning music following his ban from performing at the Grammys but he is setting up his Yeezy footwear for something big. He has just created a new position in the business for which he has just hired designer to occupy.
Nur Abbas, who formerly worked for Louis Vuitton and Nike accordingly reports, is the newly hired executive to work with the brand's owner as the head of design.
Though, this Abbas' first experience working with the rapper/fashion mogul, he believes it is the right move for him because Ye himself "cares so deeply about" what he does.
"At Yeezy and Gap, I've met some of the most talented people and teams," Abbas told as garnered by WWD. "I'm looking forward to working with them all to extend this new creative vision to the world."
Gap entered into a 10-year deal with Yeezy in 2020 that also comes with five years extension option. Bear in mind that, the rapper's brand works collaboration with Adidas since its inception in 2015 when the first Yeezy trainers was released.
Besides his previous experience as head of senior menswear for Louis Vuitton after he had spent five years with Nike, Abbas also worked with Gucci and later with Uniqlo as the head of design for menswear.
