Cristiano Ronaldo Set New Goalscoring Record In Manchester United 400th PL Victory
Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the goalscoring record in football history with his 807th goal and upset the previously tecord holder, Austrian footballer Josef Bican (805 goals) after Manchester United's 3-2 win against Tottenham on Saturday.
Until the game, the Portuguese was trailing Bican by one goal and finished the game scoring his first hattrick for the club in 14 years and took the leap in rankings to be at the top.
The 35-year-old opened the scoring with a 20-yard right-footed shot that beat Hugo Lloris to the goal and tapped home an effort from Jadon Sancho for the second goal late into first half.
Meanwhile, Spurs responded to United's aggression adequately by leveling up to the opener in a penalty converted by Harry Kane and they equalised the lead with an own goal from Harry Maguire.
With nine minutes left on the stopwatch, Ronaldo restored the lead to United with a dazzling header from Alex Tellex's corner.
Ronaldo brought his goal drought in five games to an end with the hattrick that secured United's position in the top four of the table with 50 points.
The three goals scored by Ronald made it United's 400th victory Premier League home and the club is the first in the League to make the milestone.
