Mexican Open: Britain's Cameron Norris Loses Final To Rafael Nadal
Britain's No. 1 Cameron Norris could not stop Acapulco Open veteran Rafael Nadal from his perfect to the season with a winning streak of his third title and his 91st ATP career title.
The four-time Mexican Open champion, Nadal gave no chance to the British to stage a scare and outlasted him in straight sets 6-4 6-4 to lift the trophy.
Though Norris showed some sort of resilience by trying to make a rally but the Spaniard had an early break for the 5-2 lead in both sets and breezed on to victory as the Briton couldn't hold back his frustration.
"It was a very important title for me, so I can't be happier," said the 35-year-old who won his 11st straight ATP finals. Also, he won the title without dropping a set - he hadn't drop a set since Australian Open.
It was obvious that Norris was as well determined to have the trophy but could not match the brilliance of Nadal and did expressed his frustration over that when he smashed his racket over falling behind 1-2 in the second set.
