AFCON 2022: Sadio Mane Leads Senegal To Lift Trophy
Senegal became the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions after outlasting Egypt on penalties to lift the trophy for the first time ever.
Liverpool sensational forward, Sadio Mane played the vital role in securing the victory for his country in the final that was against opponents that were led by his club side teammate, Mohamed Salah.
Mane missed out on a penalty that could have given the country the lead in the seventeenth minutes but he later scored the winning penalty that gave the country victory by 4-2.
Egypt, seven-time titlists, are the biggest winners of the trophy in the continent. The last time the lifted the trophy was in Algeria in 2012.
