Premier League: Everton's Late Goals Leave Arsenal In Defeat
Everton staged a stunning comeback and scored two goals within eleven minutes to cancel out Arsenal's lead - the winning goal came in injury time leaving Gunners with no much time to fight back.
Arsenal found themselves struggling to hold off repeatedly onslaught of their opponents but VAR had their back ruling out Richardson's efforts twice before he eventually got one in.
Everton first conceded a goal as Arsenal moved up in the lead late in the halftime, but relentless Richardson was eagerly seeking to prove the situations wrong and pounded home a header as the ball bounced off the crossbar from Andre Gomes' shot.
With just the injury time left and not long after Arsenal came close to getting an equalizer but couldn't get the ball in, Gomes inspired a fast break left off the ball to Demarai Gray who smashed a 20-yard shot home - the goal left Arsenal perplexed to watch the hosts snatch the victory from them.
Meanwhile, Everton had a 4-1 terrible defeat to Liverpool from the previous game and Rafael Benitez might just re-established confidence in the team by beating Arsenal. The club's director of football Marcel Brands left after the loss to Liverpool over fans displeasure at the club's performance and how it is being managed.
The victory will be Everton in nine consecutive league games and have won three league games in a row against Arsenal.
