Premier League: Newcastle United Lose To Arsenal To Remain Winless This Term
Newcastle United remained at the table bottom after losing 2-0 to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, as the hosts climbed up to fifth leveling on points with fourth placed Aston Villa.
As Arsenal regained its winning form following a humbling 4-0 loss to Liverpool last weekend, while Newcastle just remained winless in the first 13 games this term. Apparently, Magpies might find coming out of the redline impossible and the consequence of which is relegation.
The first half went through goalless except thst both sides nearly scored but the ball caught the woodwork on two different occasions. Second half was different for Arsenal and they moved up in the lead with Bukayo Saka netting the opening goal.
Nuno Tavares set off Saka with a through pass for a tap into the net. Ten minutes later, Gabriel Martinez who came in as the sub for the r slammed a volley past Martin Dubravka for the second goal in the 66th minute.
A chance to pull one back would have come Magpies' way but the referee did not award a penalty for Callum Wilson going down in the box and that left the team disappointed with the decision. However, the game would have gone their way as the only had 34 percent control of the game.
