Tyson Fury Retains WBC Title, Knockout Deontay Wilder In Trilogy Bout
Deontay Wilder has failed to reclaim his WBC heavyweight title from Tyson Fury as he was knocked out in the 11th round of their trilogy bout in Las Vegas that once again kept Fury as an undefeated fighter.
Tyson returned from a two years retirement to become a heavyweight champion in the rematch that saw Wilder brutally knocked out in the seventh in February last year.
"It was a great fight. I will not make any excuses, Wilder is a top fighter," said Fury. "He gave me a run for my money. I always say I am the best fighter in the world and he is the second best."
Retaining the belt did not actually happen without Wilder flooring Fury in the fourth round and also landing a right handed hooks twice on the Briton. The Bronze Bomber was on top of his game at the time.
However, Fury soon had him struggling in the seventh and wrapped up the bout with a winning knockout in the eleventh. Wilder went spiralling on the floor. The referee couldn't help calling off the fight. Fury is the winner.
