Premier League: Chelsea Have No Problems Beating 10-Man Saints
Southampton had their situation compounded for losing to Chelsea that have rose to the top of the table while they remained winless to sit just above the relegation zone.
Chelsea scored two late goals that snatched the maximum points from Saints after holding down to a even scoreline (1-1) for much of the second half.
Saints' James Prowse-Ward leveled the scoring for the side in the second half after Trevor Chalobah had put Blues in the lead nine minutes into the game. Notwithstanding, Saints couldn't have equalised as Chelsea two goals rules out before the half time.
Romelu Lukaku's goal was cancelled for offside positioning and Timo Werner had his ruled out for a foul offence committed by Cesar Azpilicueta. In all, Chelsea had the game in their control.
Within six minutes, Werner and Ben Chilwel ended prospect of the game ending in a draw as both scored to extend Blues' lead and 3-1.
