Lewis Hamilton Opens Up On Failed Ferarri Move
Lewis Hamilton may have different specs of Ferrari and even once nursed the hope of joing the racing team, but that have proven not to materialise in his career yet and he couldn't understand why that is.
Ferarri was expected to be his new team by the end of 2020 season as his contract with Mercedes was near its expiry date. Instead of him replacing Sebastian Vettel, Ferarri signed Carlos Sainz and that hope of him joining Scuderia just got dashed.
"It's definitely going to be crazy to think that I never drove Ferrari," he opened up on his interest to join the team. "For everyone that's a dream position to be in,"
Hamilton is the most successful F1 driver in history both in terms of Championships and race victories. Amongst the seven titles he has won, six was with Mercedes and the first in his career was with McLaren.
"I'll never know fully exactly why, but I wish them all the best and I'm going to spend the next bit of my time stopping them from winning the championship!"
Just as he said, he really denied Ferarri from winning titles since he has been on his championship winning streak and only missed out on that to his former teammate Nico Rosberg in 2016.
