R Kelly Risks Years In Prison For Sex Trafficking Conviction

R Kelly stands the risk of spending many years in prison as the court deliberating on his case convicted him of nine-count charges amongst which was sex trafficking, and racketeering.

The singer whose sentence is scheduled to be declared on May 4, was arrested in 2002 for allegedly making a record of himself sexually assaulting a minor. He managed to beat the case but things changed hands when he was accused of running sex cult at his resident in Atlanta in 2017.

Kelly seemed not alone in this situation as his managers who helped him with getting the victims have also been accused of abetting their client's criminal offences and are facing their charges along with the singer at the federal court in Chicago.

Devereux Cannick, who is one of the singer's lawyer, yet felt disappointed in the government for having to have treated the case, claiming there are "inconsistencies" in the allegations against his client.

"I think I'm even more disappointed the government brought the case in the first place, given all the inconsistencies," Cannick argued.

Kelly has his fate in the balance until May when the judges will be given their verdict on the case. Deliberating on his case is a jury of seven men and five women.
