Champions League: Romelu Lukaku Leads Chelsea To Winning Start


Romelu Lukaku has proven his worth to Chelsea, and led the side to start off the Champions League with a 1-0 home win against Zenit. 

The Belgian that was signed for over £90m, netted his first goal for Blues in the competition with a header from a close range when Cesar Azpilicueta's cross got to him in the box  

Antonio Rudiger had first come close to giving the side the lead following a fast break he inspired. Having taken two defenders on the edge of the box and  he lashed a right footed shot just wide. 

In the last minutes, Lukaku made another brilliant effort to double the lead but Douglas Santos made a good block.  

Chelsea and Juventus both occupied the top spots of the table of Group H with 3-point apiece. The Italians defeated Malmo 3-0 in their opening game.
