Champions League: Real Madrid Fall At Home To Sheriff Tiraspol


Champions League debutants, Sheriff Tiranspol havs left more a experienced side, Real Madrid in a shock defeat by 1-0 to lead Group D table by three points cleared the Spaniards. 

Tiraspol took the lead from the first half and the team's Sebastian Thill completed the comeback by canceling out Karim Benzema's equaliser for Real with a minute left on stoppage time. 

Jasurbek Yakhshiboek powered a header that gave the side the opening goal before half hour of play. Benzema followed up and leveled the scores by converting a penalty after the break. 

Just minutes after Thill had forced a save by Courtois following a fast break after Real's Jovic's shot was block, he received a through pass from Adama Traore, and smashed a left-footed shot to complete the victory for Tiraspol. 

The Moldovan side becomes the first team as a debutant after Leicester City (2016/17) to win their first two games in the Champions League. Likewise, both Thill and Jasurbek scored their first ever Champions League goals during the game to keep the side's clean sheet as the team is yet to concede a goal in the competition.
