Anthony Joshua Falls, Oleksandr Usyk Is New Heavyweight Champion
What a disappointment for Anthony Joshua after losing all his belts once again, as Oleksandr Usyk becomes the new holder of his belts following a unanimous decision that crowned the Ukrainian as the new heavyweight champion.
Joshua fought through the round but the Briton was outboxed and outperformed by Usyk, who was voted winner on scorecards 117 - 112, 116 - 112, 115 - 113.
The Ukrainian becomes the second fighter to beat Joshua after Mexican-American boxer Andy Ruiz Jr. Usyk is now the custodian of all the four belts that Joshua reclaimed from Ruiz in a rematch fight.
Meanwhile, the anticipation was that Joshua will take on Tyson Fury after talks to stage a fight for both broke down. The loss might have just forfeited the former champion's expectations of a unification fight with his compatriot.
