Willian's Agent Blames Arsenal As Player Terminates £20M Contract

Willian has calls it quits with Arsenal and terminated his £20.5m contract to enable his transfer to Corinthians, but his agent has come out to tell the club off.

The former Chelsea player has two seasons remaining in the contract and he will be taking 70 percent pay cuts on his move to Brazil. However, Arsenal already have the intentions of getting his wages £200,000-a-week off their pay roll.

Kia Joorabchian, who is the player's agent, blamed Arsenal for the decision claiming his client "didn't come to the club for money" anyways, rather he came for "the project and the project wasn't there" for him to carry out.

Arsenal confirmed the imminent departure of the attacking midfielder in statement that they have had "positive and constructive" talks with their Brazilian counterparts over the player's transfer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea tried to keep Willian and offered him a two-year extension deal but he required that it be three-year. On that stance, Chelsea could not help not allowing him to leave as they couldn't meet his demands considering his age.

Gunners are currently struggling and have lost all three league games played so far, leaving them at the bottom of the table - a position they last occupied in 1997.
