Tammy Abraham Joins AS Roma
Tammy Abraham will be joining Jose Mourinho at AS Roma after completing five-year transfer from Chelsea on a £34m contract that also includes a buy back clause set at £68m.
The England forward joined the Premier League giant at age seven and played vital role in the team's Champions League victory last season. During his stay at the club, the 23-year-old was jointly with Timo Werner the club's highest goalscorer (12) last season.
Roma has allotted shirt no. 9 to Tammy and that he admitted as a gesture that is a "massive honour" from a club that he believes "deserves to be fighting for titles and trophies."
He continued, "I've had the experience of winning major trophies and I want to be in those competitions again - so I want to help this team to achieve that and get to the level where Roma should be."
Leaving Stanford Bridge at this time might just be ideal for Tammy following the signing of Romelu Lukaku to club for £95.7m from Inter Milan. The Belgian might cost him his role in the team, which has been struggling with to make regular starting line-ups since the signing of Timo Werner.
