Pep Guardiola Calls Gabriel Jesus "Fantastic" Player As Man City Rout Norwich
Manchester City's record signing Jack Grealish scored his first goal as the Premier League champions comfortably routed Norwich City 5-0 at home. For Pep Guardiola, Gabriel Jesus was the "fantastic" player of the day.
Jack got his first goal after Norwich's Tim Krul handed the hosts their first goal from an own goal. The rest of the goal came in the second half amongst which was that from Raheem Sterling before Riyah Mahrez smacked in the winning fifth goal.
However, the team's manager Pep Guardiola had Gabriel Jesus to thank for giving three assists during the game. The Spaniard boss acknowledged the Brazilian as the player he admires in the team.
"If one person deserves respect and prizes and everything, it is him [Gabriel Jesus], because he never complains," he said in a post match interview.
City lavished a whooping £100m on Jack on his transfer from Aston Villa for a deal that toppled the previous record set by Paul Pogba's move to Manchester United. However, Gabriel, who is a more experienced player in the team took the day with three assists.
