Manchester United Unveil Cristiano Ronaldo After Completing Transfer
Cristiano Ronaldo is officially a Manchester United player and has been unveiled in the club's shirt for the first time since completing the transfer from Juventus.
United signed the forward to a two-year contract with an option to extend after completion. The 36-year-old will be paid £12.9M plus another £6.9M as add-ons. However, his weekly pay is understood to be in the region of £450,000.
The Portuguese described United as the club that has a "special place" in his heart and that the messages he received since the transfer was announced has been encouraging.
"I'm looking forward to joining up with the team after the international games, and I hope we have a very successful season ahead," he said in a statement.
Ronaldo was first signed to United under club's former head coach Sir Alex Ferguson in 2003, and has a record of 181 goals in 292 games appearances until 2009 when he left for Real Madrid. He won with the club three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup amongst others.
