Lionel Messi Joins PSG, Says He Is "Impatient To Start New Chapter"

  


Lionel Messi has started a "new chapter" in his career, having completed his transfer as a free agent to Paris Saint-Germain in a two-year contract that also includes an option for a one-year extension. 

By signing the Argentine to the club, PSG have committed themselves to a weekly wages of £1m, the after tax of which works out to be £550,000. The move eventually made the former to be better off than what he would have earned at Barcelona where he would have signed a new contract with 50% pay cut. 

On signing  the deal, the 34-year-old confessed that he is "impatient to start a new chapter" of his career at the club whose "vision are in perfect harmony" with his ambitions. 

Messi remained Barcelona's all-time biggest goalscorer with 672 in 778 games during his 17 years stay at the club . It was also at Barcelona that he was vote six-time Fifa player of the year. 

"I know how talented the players and staff are here," he added as he is set to join Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the attack. "I am delighted to build alongside them, something great for the clu  and for the fans."
