Wimbledon 2021: Novak Djokovic Routs Denis Kudla To Reach Fourth Round
Novak Djokovic has progressed to the fourth round of Wimbledon having claimed a decisive 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7) straight-sets win against Denis Kudla.
The world number one moved closer to defending Wimbledon title that he won in a thrilling final against Roger Federer in 2019 before that coronavirus pandemic forced the Championship to be canceled last season.
Denis managed to show some level of resilience against the top-seeded, who converted four out of ten break point advantages, for taking an early 4-1 lead in the tie-break but saw a strong rally that denied him forcing the match to four-set after by converting the second match point advantage.
"Failure was never an option for me or my family," said the Serbian who recalled the redeal he went through during the Yugoslav war in the 90s. "I spent a lot of time in the mountain with wolves and this is wolf energy here. I am not kidding"
Djokovic will face in the next match Chilean player Cristian Garin who made the round after defeating Spaniard opponent Pedro Martinez in four sets.
