Tokyo 2020: Tom Darley, Adam Peaty Win Gold Medals For Team GB

 


Medal counts for Team GB are on the rise as Adam Peaty, Tom Darley and Matty Lee won gold medals in swimming and brought Great Britain's overall tally to six - three gold, one silver, and one bronze. 

Peaty had an historic moment at the 100m breaststroke event after defending his gold medal title to become the first British swimmer ever to be a back-to-back Olympic gold medalist. 

Feeling relieved of the pressure of defending his title and being the world record holder, Peaty said: "It is not about who us the best all the year round, it is who is the best on the day. It is about who is adaptable and who wants it more."


Lee and Tom left their audiences stunned when the finished best to be winners of gold medals in in men's synchronised 10m platform defeating the favourite Chinese team that won the silver.

Tom, who was a two-time medalist, won his first ever gold in the category while Lee won the prize in his debut. They scored 471.81 to beat their Chinese counterparts who scored 470.58 to be second runners-up.
