Tokyo 2020: Alexander Zverev Denies Novak Djokovic Appearance In Final

Novak Djokovic will be settling with a bronze medal hopefully after Alexander Zverev denied him qualification for the final of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Zverev made a stunning comeback from a set down to outlast the world number one in three sets 1-6 6-3 6-1 to make his first ever appearance in an Olympic Games final, and will be playing against a Russian opponent, Karen Khachanov.

"I know he was chasing history, but in these kind of moments me and Novak are very close," said Zverev. "I feel sorry for Novak but he's won 20 Grand Slams, 550 Masters series or whatever. You can't have everything."

Absolutely, it was unfortunate for the Serbian not to have reached the final as he was bidding to become the first player ever to win "Golden Slam" - he already won all four Grand Slam this season, winning an Olympic gold medal in the same year would made thst happen for him.

Djokovic had no troubles settling with the outcome. Though, he admitted he felt "terrible" losing to Zverev, he could only blame that on his serving which he said "drastically dropped" in the second set.
