Matteo Guendouzi Completes Marseille's Move
Arsenal have completed a loan transfer for its midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi, who leaves to join Ligue 1 side Marseille in a season-long loan contract with buyout option.
Guendouzi joined the club in 2018 and spent last season on loan to Hertha Berlin after he fell out with his manager Mikel Arteta for a misconduct towards Neal Maupay during the club's 2-0 win against Brighton in in June last year.
Marseille confirmed the transfer of the Frenchman describing him as a "modern and technically strong" player that possessed the "passing quality" they wanted.
"A player of character, he has a good vision of the game," the French side continued. "These qualities he will be undoubtedly be able to share with the Olympic Marseille team."
While the 22-year-old will be joining the French side, Arsenal are understood to be preparing to sell William Saliba to the same club. So far this summer, David Luiz and Guendouzi are the transfers completed by Arsenal.
