Manchester United Complete Signing Of Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho is now officially a Manchester United player after the club completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund for a five-year deal worth £73m.
Borussia were initially looking for a fee in the region £100m for the player, who they were not keen on letting him off owing to the role he played in their team. Eventually, talks yielded between the clubs as the price was first dropped to £85m beforw it was lowered further by £12m and a deal was agreed on early in July.
"The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true," said Jadaom on move to Old Trafford. "I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
The player had just led his national team Three Lions to finish second at the Euro 2020 that was won by Italy on penalties - England players missed three spot kicks, leading to the Italians lifting the trophy as the champions.
"Jadon epitomizes the type of player I want to bring to the club," said Ole Gunnar Solksjaer in praise of the newly-signed player. "He is a forward player in the best tradition of Manchester United."
