Jando Sancho Joins Manchester United For £73.1M
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed Manchester United's readiness to sign the attacking midfielder Jadon Sancho to a £73.1million contract this summer.
Talks over the move of the English player have been ongoing since last season but could not yield a deal due to the disparity in transfer fee agreement between the two clubs. While United were considering a fee lesser than £100m, the Germans held to their gun that they are not ready for anything lesser the price tag of about £110m.
Though Jadon was keen on the transfer, it could not be possible not only because of the fee but for the key role he had played in the team's performance. He has been a player to watch out for since his academy years at Arsenal, the club's former manager Arsene Wenger had an interest in him but later sold him to the Germans.
"The player Jadon Sancho is about to move from Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. to Manchester United football Limited," confirmed the club in a statement. "Both clubs and the player reached an agreement on this today. If the transfer is realized, Manchester United will pay BVB a fixed transfer fee of EUR 85.0 million."
