McLaren Boss Mansour Ojjeh Passed Away

 


One of the major shareholders in McLaren Racing Team, Mansour Ojjeh, who is also considered to be a long standing important figure in the team has passed away. He was aged 68. 

Born in Paris, the business magnate joined the team as an investor nearly 40 years ago and he is said to be instrumental to many of the successes recorded by the team. The team won their last Formula 1 world championship with Lewis Hamilton in 2008. 

Confirming his passing away, McLren chief executive officer Zak Brown described as a "titan of our sport" whose demised as a "deep sadness" for the team for his "modest, unassuming and disarming" personality. 

"Mansour was a titan of our sport," said Zak. "Yet, modest, unassuming and disarming to all he encountered. His easy manner, sharp wit and warm humour touched all those who were fortunate to know him."
