Gennaro Gattuso Takes Lead In Race For Tottenham

Former  Fiorentina manager, Gennaro Gattuso, has been tipped as the potential successor of Jose Mourinho at Tootenham Hotspur after reports revealed he is in the lead for the job.

Spurs have been in search for a new head coach for which Paulo Fonseca was linked to until things changed and talks broke down between the parties. To that effect, the club's interest switched to Gattuso who was recently sacked at Fiorentina just 23 days after his appointment.

It is understood that Spurs are in talks with Gattuso for a two-year contract. The possibilities of him getting on the job seemed there because of the relationship that he is known to have with Spurs new managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

Mourinho was sacked at the club over the slacking performance of the team and was temporarily replaced by Ryan Mason. The Portuguese manager is expected to return to management with AS Roma by next season.
