Cristiano Ronaldo Is UEFA European Championship All-Time Top Scorer

Cristiano Ronaldo led his national team to beat Hungary and upset the previous record set by Michel Platini for UEFA European Championship all-time scorer. Portugal claimed a late stunning victory over their opponents by scoring three goals with six minutes remaining before stoppage time and earned the maximum points to lead their group.

The Juventus forward proved the class of player he is made of by delivering a spectacular finish in the added minutes after doing a one-two ball with Rafa Silva in the box. Before netting the winning goal, he converted a spot-kick for his 10th goal in the competition three minutes after Raphael Guerreiro struck home the opening goal in the 84th minutes.

In total, he now has scored 11 goals at the competition which surpassed the record scoring feat set by retired Italian international and former UEFA boss Platini.

Portugal could have suffered a setback when Szabolcs Schon latched onto a through pass and finished it off the ball brilliantly from close range, but he was caught offside. However, the Ronaldo-led side did have their moments of near misses and that included Bruno Fernades shot from the edge of the box that went of tough.
