Zinedine Zidane Resigns As Real Madrid Manager For Second Time
Zinedine Zidane has brought his reign at Real Madrid to an end as the club confirmed his departure after leading the team to finish second behind Atletico Madrid, who finished as the champions of the 2020/21 Spanish La Liga.
No reasons were given by the Frenchman for walking away from the club that he left only to rejoin two seasons ago. He is returned failed to yield any silverware unlike his first spell as the team manager when he won the Champions League three consecutive times.
"Zinedine Zidane has decided to end his current stage as coach of our club," Real Madrid confirmed in a statement.
"It is now time to respect his decision and show him our appreciation for his professionalism, dedication, and passion in all these years, and for what his figure represents for Real Madrid."
During his first spell, Zidane made history at the club as the first manager to win three successive Champions League title. On top of that, he added two La Liga titles to his resume during his reign as the club head coach.
