Italia Serie A: Inter Milan End Title-Drought After 11 Years

 


Inter Milan decisively ended their eleven-year long Italia Serie A title after beating Crotone 2-0 and extended their table lead to 82 points - a margin of 13 points clear nearest team Atalanta - to lift the trophy. 

It will be the first time that Juventus will miss out on winning the title in nine consecutive years which was a year after Antonio Conte led Milan to finish second behind the former champions. 

Former Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder, Christian Eriksen after he received a layoff from Romelu Lukaku and finished the ball off lashing a low-cut shot that deflected on opponents' Magellan into the back of the net. 

Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead in injury-time following a fast break inspired by Nicolo Barella, who found him with a through ball that he slotted through Alex Cordaz's legs to the back of the net. 

Clinching the title made it Conte's third in the league - he won his two previous Serie A with Juventus. Overall, it is his fourth career league title - he won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017.
