Europa League: Man United Set Up Final Against Villareal
The final of the Europa League will be between Manchester United and Villareal after both clubs emerged as winners of the semi-final stages against Roma and Arsenal.
Edison Cavani scored the two goals in a 3-2 loss to AS Roma that saw United through to the final having won on aggregate 8-5 - The Italian side lost the first leg of the semi-final by a woeful 6-0. Unfortunately for Arsenal, who were beaten 2-1 by Villareal, they were eliminated in a goalless home draw with Spaniards.
United now have an opportunity on their hands to end their title-drought of four seasons but Ole Solksjaer Gunnar will be facing the Spaniards whose manager he is very familiar with Unai Emery. Unlike him, Emery is a Europa final veteran and his last appearance was with Chelsea 2019 which he lost to Sevilla.
Also, Emery is an acquaintance of the final having reached the competition's final game more than any head coach in Europe. In total, he has made five appearances. Unlike Solksjaer, this will be his first major competition final appearance with United.
