Tottenham Sack Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho's reign at Tottenham Hotspur is short-lived following his dismissal at the club just 17 months after his appointment to replace former head coach Mauricio Pocchettino.

Spurs were dumped out of Europa League in a humiliating defeat by Dinamo Zagreb and are presently in the seventh position in the top spot of the Premier League. The sudden dismissal is believed to be based on the performance of the team for which he has been criticized.

The club chairman Daniel Levy explained that left to him, he enjoyed the time the Portuguese manager spent at the club except that there seemed not to be any improvement as expected since he assumed the role.

"On a personal level, I enjoyed working with him [Mourinho] and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged," said Levy.

Spurs initially were like a promising with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min combination at the front delivering goals but that soon changed and have been losing points from winning position leading than expected - they have failed win in four consecutive games and their last was 2-2 draw against Everton on Friday.
