Premier League: West Brom Embarrassed Chelsea In Big Home Loss
10-man Chelsea had a difficult home game against West Bromwich leading to a 5-2 defeat that ended their league games unbeaten run under Thomas Tuchel. It was the club's second five-goal defeat in a home league game since 2011 - their first was to Arsenal.
West Ham came from behind to seal a victory with Mattheus Pereira scoring twice on the brink of halftime and cancel out Chelsea's lead scored by Christian Pulisic. The red-carding of Thiago Silva soon after the side moved up in the lead resulted in Baggies having the upper hand to control the game.
Things got worse for Chelsea after the break as Callum Robinson and Mbaye Diagne added two goals to extend the lead before Mason Mount pull one back for the side to bring the tally to 4-2.
Callum completed the victory for Baggies by chipping Pereira'sthrough pass over Chelsea's Mendy for his second goal and his team's fifth.
Silva being the oldest player in Chelsea made him the second-oldest player to be sent off in a league game after John Terry against Sunderland in 2016. Silva was sent off for a late tackle on Yokuslu on the edge of the box shortly after Pulisic gave Chelsea the lead.
