Premier League: Timo Werner Ends Goal-Drought In Chelsea Win Against West Ham


Chelsea maintain found help from their RB Leipzig signing Timo Werner to beat West Ham 1-0 and retained a strong lead over the opponents in the table to be fourth with three points clear. 

Werner found his scoring acumen once again after a long goal-drought since February and finished off a Ben Chilwell's cross from close range to give Chelsea the lead late in the first half. Hammers finished the game one-man down after Fabian Balbuena was red-carded in the 81st minutes. 

As it is presently, Manchester City appeared to be on the run for the premier Lrague trophy with Manchester United and Leicester City in the trail respectively. However, Chelsea have their place for the Champions League qualification bid and with three-point clear West Ham, they are clinging on to make the slot. 

Interestly, Hammers red-cadrd defender happened to be the team's first player to be dismissed playing against Chelsea during a league game since 2002.
