Mrs Sri Lanka Hospitalised After Fight Broke Out On Stage

Mrs. Sri Lanka had a terrible experience after being crowned the winner of the country's beauty pageant as a fight broke out on stage leading to her being hospitalized. 

The victim and beauty pageant queen, Pushpika De Silva, was accused of being divorce by the 2019 pageant winner, who deemed her not to be the rightful winner after she was declared winner of the title. 

Ms.Pushpika sustained head injuries from the brawl after resulted from the discrepancies over marital status alleged by her counterpart, Caroline Jurie, during the ceremony that was aired live on national TV on Sunday. 

Caroline snatched the crown from Pushpika's head and placed it on the runner-up's head claiming that the rules forbid the contestant to be a divorcee.

She was later re-crowned by the organizers and she explained in an update on her Facebook account that she has not divorced her estranged husband but they are only separated. 

"I'm still an un-divorced woman. A true queen is not a woman who snatches another woman's crown," she clarified. "But a woman who secretly sets another woman's crown!"

It is understood reportedly that Ms. Pushpika will be suing her counterpart for the ill-treatment meted to her and for the false accusations raised during the ceremony.
