Champions League: Jurgen Klopp Says "We Will Be Back" As Liverpool Are Out

Liverpool was like catch me if you can in the Champions League two seasons ago, that did not happen the last term, and neither will it in this term as they are back home having failed to make it to the semis.

Jurgen Klopp's men were shown the exit door by Real Madrid after playing a goalless draw in their second leg game to lose on an aggregate of 3-1 on Wednesday. Jurgen Klopp promised the club "will be back" as Reds' focus now will be how to make the four of the Premier League to make the qualification for the competition next season.

Mohamed Sallah and James Milner did put Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to test but failed to beat him to the goal Georgino Wijnaldum had his glaring scoring chance wasted letting their opponents get away with the victory.

"We love this competition and for other reasons, it is very important we are back in it," said Klopp. "We can now concentrate on the Premier League and we will. We have to work our socks off."

The reds were the better side during the game only that they weren't the blunt side on this day. It ended as Liverpool's fifth winless game in their past six meetings with the Spaniards in the competition.

In Klopp's view, losing to Madrid didn't really mean they were the best, rather the Reds were "good, aggressive, had chances" than their opponents. He added, "We didn't score and then the experience of Real Madrid played the tie-down. That is ourselves this year with the finishing."
