Tina Turner To Retire, Says "I'm Done"
Tina Turner has deemed it fit it is time to draw the curtains on her music career and she is doing so with the release of her forthcoming documentary.
Famed for her hit song, What Love Got To Do With It, the octogenarian is known to many as the Queen of Rock and Roll and has had an abusive marriage with her estranged husband Ike Turner, who forcefully changed her name from Anna Mae Bullock to what she is presently called without her knowledge.
Edwin Bach, who is Tina's husband, described the documentary as the "closure" of her career in the music industry which she debuted with her first single A Fool In Love in 1960.
Also speaking about the retirement, Tina's director, Dan Linsday, recalled the singer telling him, "I appreciate all this all love for me. But, I am done, I am tired, I just want to live in retirement."
During her career, the 81-year-old has won eight Grammys from 25 nominations amongst which is record of the year and best pop vocal performance. Her hit single What Love Got To Do With It peaked at #1 while Typical Male and We Don't Need Another Hero peaked at #2.
