Lewandowski Scores Hattrick To Lead Bayern To Beat Dortmund

Robert Lewandowski proved to be the better striker than Erling Haaland for having to lead Bayern Munich from two goals down, canceled out Borussia Dortmund's lead from very early into the game by scoring a hattrick.

Haaland's brilliance at finishing delivered two goals to Dortmund within 10 minutes of play and was off to stealing the headlines before Lewandowski tapped home a through pass from Leroy Sane and leveled up the scoring converting a penalty drawn by Kingsley Coman on the brink of halftime.

At this point, Haaland could only watch in amazement how the Polish striker canceled out his efforts to lead Dortmund through. It became dawn on the visitors in the last two minutes when Leon Gorectka slammed a poor clearance home to put Bayern in the lead and Lewandowski struck into the net a through pass from Coman for a hattrick just on the 90th minute.

The victory handed Bayern the needed maximum points to regain the table lead with two points clear RB Leipzig while Dortmund remained in the fight to climb up to the top four from the sixth position.

Besides extending his goals tally in the Bundesliga to 267, Lewandowski has now scored 16 goals in nine games against Dortmund. Also, the hattrick is the 14th he has ever scored for Bayern.
