Cristiano Ronaldo's Armband Goes Up For Auctioning
Cristiano Ronaldo only in disgust angrily took off his armband and cast to the ground over the cancellation of goal scored against Serbia which should have been the decider, but that has turned into what gone up for auctioning being a star sportsman that he is.
Auctioning the armband has nothing to do with Ronaldo, rather it was raised by a man who required that AFP keeps him anonymous. The plan of the unnamed individual was to use the band to raise funds for a six-month-old baby, Gavrilo Djurdjevic, for the treatment of a rare disease.
Speaking to the media outlet in a phone conversation, he said while watching the player discard his band late into the game that "the idea immediately occurred to me that this could be a good opportunity. I realized we had some attention and could do something nice for Gavrilo."
The Portuguese international scored the controversial goal with three minutes remaining on the stopwatch and was ruled out despite replay showing that the ball had gone past the line before Stefan Mitrovic cleared the ball out.
