Spanish La Liga: Raphael Varane Scores Double As Real Madrid To Beat Huesca

Real Madrid has kept their title-chase alive by winning 2-1 against Huesca in a comeback that saw scored a double to give the side the victory.

The victory might have just relieved the club's manager, Zinedine Zidane, of criticism from the Spanish media after leading the team to win just one out of the five previous games, and they are second in the table trailing Atletico Madrid by three points.

With a square pass from Okazaki, Javi Galan slammed home a left-footed shot from the edge of the box to give the hosts the led - that was the player's first professional goal against a top-flight side.

Real leveled up with the opponents after a free-kick taking Karim Benzema clipped the crossbar only for Varena to nod home from close range. Benzema followed up with two attempts that were saved brilliantly by goalkeeper Fernandez.

Varana later doubled the scoring by tapping home the ball from close range after the ball was headed to his path following a free-kick. The player broke his scoring drought of the season by leading the side through by two goals.

The hosts' however had a couple of goal chances but were denied by Real's Thibaut Courtois as the Bernabeu side regained their winning form after losing 2-1 to Levante last weekend.
