Roger Federer Set To Return In Doha Open
It has been nearly a calendar year since Roger Federer has been out-of-action following a slow recovery from a knee injury for which he had undergone two surgeries. However, he is hoping to return to the court at Doha Open in March.
The former world number one will definitely not be participating at the 2021 Australian Open over the same health challenges. Likewise, Andy Murray, who will also not be participating for testing positive for the Covid-19 virus.
Speaking on his return during an interview with a Swiss broadcaster, explained that besides playing in Doha, his main goals for the season were to participate in Wimbledon and at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
"I want to celebrate great victories again, and for that, I'm ready to go the long, hard road," said the 20-time Grand Slam winner.
Federer was eliminated by Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Australian Open last season and the Serb progressed to win the title by beating Dominic Thiem in the final for his 17th Grand Slam.
