Premier League: Aston Villa Beat Arsenal With Early Goal From Ollie Watkins
Arsenal just had a bad start with goalkeeper Mat Ryan for having conceded a goal in less than two minutes into the game against Aston Villas that carted away the maximum points.
Villa capitalized on a sloppy back pass committed by Cedric Soares which Bertrand Traore picked up and squared a through pass to Ollie Watkins who slammed the ball that deflected on Rob Holding to beat Ryan to the goal.
Granit Xhaha made an effort to rescue Gunners taking a free-kick well-aimed at the goal but Emiliano Martinez denied his former team from getting an equalizer. Villa responded with Ross Barkley setting off of Traore for a strike from close range but Ryan was swift enough to palm the ball into safety.
The victory moved the host up to the eighth position as they completed their first double victory against Arsenal since the inaugural Premier League season 1992/93.
