FA Cup: Manchester City Outshine Swansea To Reach Quarter-finals

There was no stopping Manchester City from reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after they claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory against Swansea City.

Citizens have been in the best forms recently for extending their winning streak to 15 games in a row in all competitions and are also the league leaders with five points clear nearest team, Manchester United. However, it is too early to say they are on course for a title-haul like they did in 2018/19 when they became the first club to win a domestic treble in English football history.

The visitors had determined the fate of the game before an hour of play with Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus leading the scoring respectively before the hosts managed to pull one back by Morgan Whittaker with 13 minutes remaining to play.

Gabriel's goal was handed him from a sloppy defensive error committed by the hosts and Bernando Silva seized the moment to float a header pass to him to smash home from close range. Nonetheless, Whittaker made the most of the game netting his first goal on debut in the FA Cup.
