Europa League: Dele Alli Flaunts Thrilling Overhead Kick In Tottenham Win Against Wolfberger
Tottenham did not only breezed through to the Europa League Last 16 but that comes off a superb bicycle kick by Dele Alli in the side's second leg 4-0 home win against Wolfberger for an 8-1 aggregate.
Spurs entered into the game with a 4-1 head lead from the first leg that effectively had almost secured their qualification for the knockout stages. Yet, the Premier League side was quick to stamp its control over the Austrian side right from the first half.
Alli handed the side the lead early in the 10th minutes by slamming home Matt Doherty's cross with a stunning overhead kick that beat Manuel Kuttin. The English attacking midfielder went on to assist in the second goal with a cross for a header from Alves Morais.
Gareth Bale showed off his brilliance at scoring goal curling home Alli's through pass for Spurs' third goal and Morais completed the victory with the fourth with seven minutes remaining.
The victory may have just cleared the dark cloud over Jose Mourinho's job as he has been under strict scrutiny for a winless run of five in the side's recent six Premier League. However, the Portuguese maintained he will be remembered at the club even if the speculation that he stands to be fired for the poor performance of the club.
Mourinho yet has a hope of delivering silverware for the club this season as they are in the final of the Carabao Cup and have sealed a place in the Europa League knockout stages. By the way, the former Real Madrid manager won the Europa League title for Manchester United and also for Chelsea.
