Australian Open: Rafael Nadal Oust British Player Cameron Norrie In Third Round
British player Cameron Norrie's time at the Australian Open came to its end playing against Rafael Nadal, losing a three-setter round third as the Spaniard progressed to the round of 16.
Norrie was able to deny the world number two seven break advantages, but he was unable to cause the world number two that much a scare and was outclassed by 7-5, 6-3, 7-5. Yet, he was able to keep up with the pressure that comes with playing against Nadal for over two hours.
"I think I didn't convert the opportunities I had at the beginning of every set, so the situation became a little more difficult," Nadal recalled. "Then of course you play against the best players in the world so it's normal you suffer a little bit."
Nadal has kept a clean sheet through the matches played so far in the quest to snap his title-drought at the tournament since 2009. He will face Italian player Fabio Fognini in the next round.
