Rapper Sued Nicki Minaj For Sampling
Nicki Minaj risks coughing out $200m for an alleged copyright infringement leveled against her by a Queens rapper over her hit track 'Rich Sex' featuring Lil Wayne.
Apparently, Nicki is not alone in the lawsuit which also indicted labels like Universal Music Group, Cash Money, and Young Money as amongst parties that will have to dole out that lot over damages caused him.
The amount stated was a demand made by the plaintiff named Brinx Billions, who claimed to have the original which was sampled by the female rapper after he allowed her to listen to his version of the track. He claimed he let her because they have known each other since 2007 according to TMZ.
Brinx alleged he was promised the song was going to make a hit globally, but Nicki went behind him to rip him off without acknowledgment. Stating the extent of similarities, the rapper also cited lyrics like "it ain't a thing as broke and handsome" to be originally his.
