Premier League: Man United Beat Aston Villa Equal On Points With Liverpool

Manchester United took a strong leap to equal on points with table leader Liverpool after claiming a 2-1 home victory against Aston Villa and extended their unbeaten run to the eleventh consecutive league game.

Fernando Bruno gifted the side the needed victory by converting a penalty that erased an equalizer gained by Villa's Bertrand Traore soon after their return from break. Paul Pogba drew the spot-kick after being down by Douglas Luiz.

Anthony Martial had first attempted a curled shot at the goal saved by Emiliano Martinez, but his second attempt was successful when he lashed a header on a Wan-Bissakka's cross to give United the lead. Traore later canceled out the lead slamming home a through ball from Jack Grealish.

David de Gae made a brilliance of Villa's John McGinn attempt to give the side the lead after Martial had his saved by Martinez. Villa yet had two glaring chances through Matty Cash and Tyrone Mings in the second, David stop the former's long-range shot from going in.

United tying with Liverpool on points (33) put Red Devils in a comfortable position over the nearest team Leicester City who trailed them by four points.
